Ever wondered whether you might enjoy Lino printing? Curious about what it entails? Come and join me for this two hour taster session. Over the course of two hours, you will explore: - the materials and equipment required to create your very own one colour Lino print - the basic principles and terminology of printmaking - test out your mark-marking and carving skills - discover what makes a good design for this method of printing - create your own first lino small print edition on paper - Take your prints home with you - ready to hang immediately! Our designs for this workshop will be simple and seasonal to give you all the information you need to understand the basics. We will look at how to create different line thicknesses, and create a white line carving using simple lino cutting techniques. Follow a pre-designed template or Crete. simple one of your own, as you get to grips with basic design for lino printing. Our course runs from 7pm to 9pm and is suitable for 16 + (14+ if accompanied by an adult) This workshop is aimed at people who have NEVER lino printed before and are curious to have a go. We will be using printing inks which may stain clothing. Please wear old clothes and bring an apron! Light refreshments are included - please let me know if you have dietary requirements when booking, so I can cater accordingly.
