I'm Sue. I'm an artist, decorative illustrator, linocut printmaker, and pattern designer. I also teach workshops in lino printing. I'm based in Wolverhampton, UK, where I'm also carer for my mischievous and beautiful son (13) who has Down's Syndrome. We live with my partner, who is a florist, and a lovely little cat called Tabatha.

I've been drawing, painting and pattern-making one way or another, my whole life. I grew up in Derbyshire, where my Mum & Dad ran a stationery business. Quite a solitary child, I had an active imagination, and I was never short of paper and pencils! So, I spent a lot of time drawing, and writing stories, and always knew I was destined for a creative career. After a degree in Carpet Design brought me to the West Midlands, I spent nearly 20 years teaching Art & Design in colleges, before launching my own design business. I've also exhibited and sold landscape paintings, with pieces in several public and private collections.

From my early days growing up in the Peak District right up until now, I've been inspired by nature, the British Countryside, its seasons, wildlife and especially its plants. From a long line of growers, I love flowers, plants, weeds, and seeds. I always work seasonally, and all my designs start life as drawings by hand on paper or iPad.

I run Lino printing workshops locally and sell my products in a number of lovely little independent craft & design shops around the region. My portfolio is chock full of designs available for licensing and  I'll happily work to commission, too. Just drop me a line - I'd love to collaborate!
