Service Description
Ever wondered whether you might enjoy fabric printing? Curious about what it entails? Come and join me for the FREE taster session. Over the course of two hours, you will explore: - the materials and equipment required to create your very own motifs for block printing - the basic principles and terminology of printmaking - test out your mark-marking and carving skills - discover what makes a good design for this method of printing - print your own first small fabric sample to test your design - then print a bandana or handkerchief to take away! Our designs for this workshop will be abstract and geometric, based on the cut glass crystal the Red House Cone, our host venue, is famous for. We will look at how to create different patterns by arranging our geometric blocks in different ways. You will produce a printed handkerchief or bandana using your pattern design. Our course runs from 11pm to 1.30pm and is suitable for 16 + (14+ if accompanied by an adult) This workshop is aimed at people who have NEVER printed before and are curious to have a go. Many thanks to Red House Glass Cone, Ruskin Glass Centre, and funding from Government UKSPF to allow this free event, which is part of Stourbridge Open Studios 2026. We will be using printing inks which may stain clothing. Please wear old clothes and bring an apron! Although this event is free - places are limited. Pre - booking is essential. If for any reason you book and then can't attend please let me know so I can offer the place to someone else.

To cancel, please contact me within 7 days of the date of the workshop you have booked to attend. Due to room booking costs and other overheads, late cancellations will only receive a 50% refund. You may be able to reschedule, providing I have an other upcoming workshop which would be suitable.
