Service Description

Come and create your own floral lino print in mixed colours, using the jigsaw printing technique. This is an ideal for both beginners and those with some previous experience. We will be designing, carving and printing a floral or botanical design in two, or three colours based on your choice of flower or plant - this could be your own favourite, one that reminds you of someone, or a special time in your life, or a flower that someone close to you loves. You will be given plenty of support to turn your favourite flower into a beautiful and personal print, to hang at home or give as a gift. During the session you will explore: - the materials and equipment required to create your very own Lino print - the basic principles and terminology of printmaking - test out your mark-marking with the tools and equipment - learn what makes a successful jigsaw lino print design -create a unique design based on what you have learnt - carve , ink and print your chosen design This session is suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience. You are welcome to bring along any photos, sketches, or digital images that you would like to use for inspiration. There will also be some images in the workshops you can use for inspiration on the day. Our workshop runs from 1 pm to 5pm and is suitable for ages 16 + or 14 if accompanied by an adult The cost of this session includes all the materials and equipment needed to create your print, plus complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. Please stipulate if you have any dietary requirements when booking. Places are limited to 6 participants to ensure that all members have plenty of 1:1 tuition and guidance on the day. You will be with a very experienced Tutor - I spent 17 years teaching art and Design in FE colleges. We will be using printing inks which may stain clothing. Please wear old clothes and bring an apron! There is a free car park directly opposite the venue on Bridge Street
