Block print your own tote bag

Service Description

This twilight session is suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience. We will be exploring how we can create block-print motifs to print onto fabric. In the friendly and welcoming environment of Crafty Happenings, you will be creatively inspired! Spend a fun evening creating your unique tote bag design from scratch! You will explore: - the materials and equipment required to create your very own block print - the basic principles and terminology of printmaking - develop final motifs suitable for printing onto fabric - print your tote bag! - Take your printed tote bag home with you - ready to use or gift! Our designs for this workshop will be botanical or geometric, and are best kept relatively simple! Bring along any photos, sketches, or digital images that you would like to use for inspiration. There will also be some materials in the workshops you can use for inspiration on the day. Our workshop runs from 4pm to 8pm and is suitable for 16 + The cost of this session includes all the materials required to create one printed tea-towel; Tea, coffee, biscuits, and homemade cake are complimentary. Please stipulate if you have any dietary requirements when booking. Places are limited to 6 participants to ensure that all members have plenty of 1:1 tuition and guidance on the day. You will be with a very experienced Tutor - I spent 17 years teaching art and Design in FE colleges. We will be using printing inks which may stain clothing. Please wear old clothes and bring an apron! There is a free car park directly opposite the venue, on Bridge Street.
