Service Description

This relaxed full day workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience. We will be exploring how we create a multicolour block print using the jigsaw printing method. In this welcoming, fun and friendly workshop, you will be surrounded with creativity and inspiration! Spend the day learning this absorbing craft as you explore: - the materials and equipment required to create your very own Lino print - the basic principles and terminology of printmaking - test out your mark-marking and carving skills - develop a final three + colour print using the skills you have learnt - print your first edition! - Take your prints home with you - ready to hang immediately! Our designs for this workshop will be based on Spring Flowers. Bouquets, buds and blossoms would be great choices. Bring along any photos, sketches, or digital images that you would like to use for inspiration. There will also be some materials in the workshops you can use for inspiration on the day. Our course runs from 10am till 3 pm and is suitable for 16 + The cost of the course includes all the materials required to create your prints; Tea, coffee, biscuits, and homemade cake are also complimentary. Please bring a packed lunch. Please stipulate if you have any dietary requirements when booking. Places are limited to 8 participants to ensure that all members have plenty of 1:1 tuition and guidance on the day. You will be with a very experienced Tutor - I spent 17 years teaching art and Design in FE colleges. We will be using printing inks which may stain clothing.
