Hi! I’m Sue. A lover of beautiful things and a colour addict.
I’ve always known that surrounding yourself with colour can be uplifting and inspiring. It can improve your quality of life; sense of self; your mental well being. A good colour combination can bring a smile, raise an eyebrow, lift a mood. I aim to do this in all of my designs, whatever their purpose. Whether it’s a greetings card to send, or something more lasting such as wallpaper or fabrics, I aim to create designs that can improve your day.
I’ve been pretty obsessed with drawing, colour, paint, collage, printing and pattern-making most of my life. All of my work starts life as a drawing or painting on paper, before being scanned into the computer to be manipulated. I like to ensure I always retain a sense of the hand drawn in my final designs – I prefer the warmth and spontaneity of hand-made marks to slick computer generated graphics. So if some of my designs look a little wobbly – they are and it’s intentional!
I taught Textiles Design in colleges for 17 years before launching my own design business. I’m based in the West Midlands UK with my partner, young son and a bad tempered old cat. I find inspiration all around me and I always have more ideas than time!
I hope you enjoy my work, please contact me if you have any questions.
